Ana Pérez-Quiroga APQhome – MAAT

The fourth volume in the series Ashpit 8 is being published on the occasion of the exhibition APQhome – MAAT, by Ana Pérez-Quiroga. Unlike previous volumes, this one includes a ser of images of the installation. In the text published in the catalogue, Pedro Gadanho , the exhibition curator, writes: “the gesamtkunstwerk presented by Ana Pérez-Quiroga at MAAT’s Ashpit 8 gallery does not stem from the carefully signed and organised made available to the guests who occupy the installation. Nor does it come from the architectural and pictorial decisions which defined the configuration of APQhome – MAAT, as is the case with other homes made by artists in the past, so different from any functional residence designed in an orderly fashion by an architect. Instead, the essence of the ‘total work of art’ by Pérez-Quiroga comes from the experience afforded the guests who enter into a daily and close interaction with the artist and her objects.”
