The EDP Foundation will provide 100% electric vehicles for institutions operating in the social sector. The principal aim of the programme is to reduce the third sector's carbon footprint, saving entities money while also promoting knowledge about electric transport and its importance in making our planet more sustainable. This initiative takes place under the “Mobilidade Solidária” (Solidarity in Mobility) programme and envisages access to twenty 100% electric vehicles, including the installation of charging wallboxes, support for electricity costs and training on their efficient use. Its implementation will be supported by Leaseplan, especially in the training component.
The application process opens from the last week of June until the end of July 2022.
Non-profit organisations operating in the Portuguese social economy, whether as Associations, Cooperatives, Foundations or Charities, are invited to apply. Applications will be assessed on criteria of social impact, such as the number of beneficiaries of the applicant institution and its average number of trips.
Since its creation, the EDP Foundation has worked actively in the area of community impact, with a focus on inclusion and improving the quality of life of people and communities in situations of vulnerability.
Defined in 2022, the EDP Foundation's strategic plan is aligned with the Group's aim to be a global benchmark in ESG and to guarantee access to clean energy for all through social investment.
