Mariana Caló and Francisco Queimadela. Mid-night

Published on the occasion of the exhibition by the duo Mariana Caló and Francisco Queimadela held in Ashpit 8 at MAAT – Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology, this catalogue includes images of the installation and details of Mid-night (2019), an original work. In her text, Filipa Ramos, the exhibition curator, refers in relation to this work: “Mid-night presents a series of four original pieces where several night-vision technology devices are explored: a synchronised projection of two 16-mm, black-and-white films, a projection of a high-definition video on six channels, the projection of a 16-mm colour film, and a presentation combining a screen and a slide projection with images of the artists’ paintings. The exhibition sits symbolically in the transition between night and day, the moment when, according to popular imagination, the relationship between different beings and worlds becomes permeable.”
