The 2005 EDP New Artists Award exhibition was curated by João Fernandes, João Pinharanda and Nuno Faria, and it took place at the Central Portugal Pavilion (Pavilhão Centro de Portugal), in Coimbra.
Among the seven artists selected to participate in this collective exhibition, the jury chose João Leonardo as the winner.
Biography
João Leonardo was born in Odemira, in 1974. He graduated in Art History, at Lisbon’s Nova University and, in 2009, he completed a Master’s Degree in Fine Arts from Malmö Art Academy, Lund University. He has held solo exhibitions since 2006. In 2007, he won the Danfoss Art Award (Germany). He lives and works in Klippan, Sweden.
